Lottie Sherwood

Performing Mozart's Piano Concerto 23 in A major (K 488)

Lottie Sherwood is a Junior at the North East School of the Arts magnet program at LEE High School. She is a San Antonio native and has studied piano for 9 years. She often accompanies classmates for college auditions and competitions, is a state solo and ensemble qualifier, has performed a solo recital, and enjoys the world of collaboration, finding particular enjoyment in piano chamber music. She also plays trumpet as part of the NESA orchestra where she has accompanied several musicals including Anastasia, An American in Paris, and most recently Funny Girl. She plans to major in music in college.

Outside of music, Lottie often volunteers with the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas as a camp counselor and enjoys reading. She has two dogs whom she loves dearly and talks about often.  Lottie would like to thank the San Antonio Community Orchestra for this opportunity, her piano teacher Ruth Gelsinger for her support and feedback and her parents, friends and mentors for their love and guidance. 

Gracie Fowler

Performing Gabriel's Oboe from The Mission

Gracie Fowler is an accomplished oboist and educator with approximately 25 years of performance experience and 23 years of higher education teaching experience. She holds an undergraduate degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Technology. In addition to serving as a full-time, tenured faculty member at the community college level for 20 years, Ms. Fowler also performed throughout Southern California, playing principal oboe, as well as oboe d’amore and English Horn with the Palomar College Symphony Orchestra, MiraCosta Symphony, Inland Valley Symphony, Pacific Lyric Opera Company, Tustin Ballet Company, Pacific Coast Concert Band, Escondido Choral Arts Society Orchestra, Coastal Communities Band, and as a civilian musician with the Marine Band at Camp Pendleton, CA and the Navy Band in Point Loma, CA, as well as many other organizations. Having recently relocated to San Antonio, Ms. Fowler performs regularly with the Alamo City Arts Association, Heart of Texas Concert Band, and as a substitute with Symphony Viva. She is available for individual instruction including oboe reed making and performances as well as woodwind coaching. 

Anna Addington

Performing Cinema Paradiso

Anna Addington has been playing piano for eight years. She is a home-schooled student and is about to finish her sophomore year of high school. Anna started teaching piano in November of 2022 and now teaches five students. She is active in her high school worship band at church and sings in the church choir. Anna also enjoys knitting and painting along with playing the piano.

Mitzi Ruttan

Performing La La Land and The Theory of Everything

Mitzi Ruttan has been a member of the San Antonio Community Orchestra since 1984 to the present with a few breaks. She started playing cello with SACO and then changed to violin in the 1st violin section as well as piano accompaniment. Professionally, she also is a high soprano, organist, and flautist. Mitzi along with her husband, Selby Anderson, a bass baritone, have been music ministers for Catholic and Methodist churches in San Antonio. Mitzi has also taught as a private music teacher for 40 years and as a Texas public school Music Educator (Orchestra, Elementary Music, and Choir) for 19 years. Mitzi thanks her husband for his support of her music career.

Tyler Westbrook

Performing Somewhere in Time and Game of Thrones

Tyler Westbrook is first chair alto and soprano saxophone in the varsity band at Harlan High School and plays organ at Zion Lutheran Church. He is also a member of the Varsity track and cross country teams at Harlan.
